WUZU WUZU: When Art Becomes Healing
Today is the Day Foundation was founded by Noritoshi Hirakawa in the wake of the Tsunami in Ōkuma, Fukushima, Japan in 2011.
Since 2013, our mission has been to help children process trauma through the power of art therapy. As the mental health crisis among young people grows—with an estimated 1.4 billion children worldwide affected by trauma, depression, or Complex PTSD—our work is evolving to meet this urgent need.
Introducing WUZU WUZU, a new kind of interactive digital experience for children. Unlike traditional video games built for distraction, WUZU WUZU invites healing through creation. In this meditative, non-verbal environment, children design characters, explore soothing soundscapes, and engage in the simple yet profound act of creation—because creating is healing.
Built on secure blockchain technology, WUZU WUZU offers a safe and private space where children can ground themselves emotionally and reconnect with their inner calm.
Our team has completed early development, defining the emotional journey and therapeutic foundations of the experience. As we enter the prototyping phase, we are partnering with trusted institutions to bring WUZU WUZU to places where children already receive care and support:
-
Schools: Integrating art-based emotional learning.
-
Community Centers: Supporting youth wellness programs.
-
Therapy Practices: Enhancing clinical art therapy sessions.
WUZU WUZU is not just a game—it’s a bridge between imagination and healing, empowering children everywhere to find peace through play.
